Meet Shawn, the creative mastermind behind Couture Black.  Shawn is a genius behind the camera and the images that he creates are unique.  Couture Black grew out of an already successful sister brand, Shawn Black Photography where he works with brides to capture their vision.  He was struck by how many women had body confidence issues and just overall how much the media affected a women’s attitude toward herself.  This is where his skill behind the camera became so much more then pretty pictures.  He has been able to help women in a unique way to see their true beauty and see that beauty isn’t defined by a number, a look, a color or anything else.  Beauty comes from within and when a women sees herself as the powerful beauty she is, everything changes.  Shawn is helping to change the definition of beauty one woman at a time.  

When Shawn isn’t behind the camera, he is being daddy to a Eva, 10 year old with a passion for dance and Colton, 7 year old who is becoming a sport fanatic.  Michelle, his wife of 11 years who you will meet below, is also a strong proponent in his mission. 

Shawn is also passionate about education in the boudoir genre. In his spare time, you'll find him traveling the world appearing at photography conferences and workshops sharing his knowledge with other photographers.
